[24in48 Readathon] Hour 48: Closing Survey

01. How many books did you read? Pages? (If you didn’t keep track, tell me that too!) I read 6 books from end to end, and two chapters of a 7th. Didn't keep track of the pages, though. 02. How many hours did you read? 10 hours and 32 minutes. 03. What do you think worked well in this readathon? I liked how spaced out the mini-quests were, even if I didn't participate in most of them. And I really appreciated the wide scope of where people were reading from. 04. What do you think could be done to improve the readathon for next time? I honestly can't think of anything right now. 05. Will you participate in a future 24in48 readathon? I think so. :)

[24in48 Readathon] Hour 8 and 22min: If the Tabloids Are True What Are You?

It's now hour 8 and 24 minutes and I just finished Matthea Harvey's "If The Tabloids Are True What Are You?" which is a combination of mixed media and poetry inspired by the artwork. Some bits are fascinating, others less interesting to me. It's still pretty cool, though.

[24in48 Readathon] Hour 6 and 5 min: The School for Good and Evil: The Ever Never Handbook

Now I'm on hour six and a bit and just finished "The School for Good and Evil: The Ever Never Handbook" by Soman Chainani. I love good in-universe meta that expands the canon universe and the School for Good and Evil series is a very interesting branch off of fairy tale retellings. This didn't disappoint in that regard especially in expanding the universe of the books post-series as well as the history behind the series. If you enjoyed the School for Good and Evil series and wanted to know what happens after, pick it up!

[24in48 Readathon] hour 3 and 45min : The Dear Remote Nearness of You

45 minutes after hour 3, I just finished Danielle Legros Georges's "The Dear Remote Nearness of You". It's a very intriguing and diverse collection of poetry. I love the variation in rhythms, and styles. Some of them are more prose-poems but they're all fascinating snapshots of life.

[24in48 Readathon] Hour 1-3 Book: You Can Heal Your Life

For the first 3 hours (9a-12p) I decided to catch up on one of my Facebook group-based self-study reads, Louise L. Hay's "You Can Heal Your Life". So I spent 3 hours reading the first two chapters and doing the exercises in the second. It's pretty relevant to my life right now. I'm trying to make a lot of big changes this year in the hopes of finding a job that I would like to do. And one of them is trying for less negativity. So this is a good book for starting to unpack that stuff.

[24in48 Readathon] Hour Zero Intro Survey

Hi everyone who's visiting from the 24in48 Readathon!

So I'm actually already 3 hours in but I forgot to say hi! I'll post a short bit about what I read for my first 3 hours in a second.

But here's my Hour Zero Intro Survey.

01. Where in the world are you reading from this weekend?
Hi I'm from Boston, Massachusetts in the USA.
02. Have you done the 24in48 readathon before?
Nope this is my first year.
03. Where did you hear about the  24in48 readathon, if it is your first?
I saw it browsing around Twitter. :)
04. What book are you most excited about reading this week?
Right after I do my post about my first 3 hours book, I'm going to start reading the one of the one s I'm most excited about, Danielle Legros Georges's "The Dear Remote Nearness of You", which is a poetry collection.
05. Tell us something about yourself. Since I can't say just one thing here's a speed bio I did from a recent friending meme on Dreamwidth:
Hufflepuff. Taurus. Plural. Writer. Artist. Reiki Practitioner. Advocate. Activist. Intuitive. UU - eclectic pop culture pagan with Christian and Correllian Nativist Wicca influences. Adult learner taking classes through a day program for people with disabilities, MOOCs and self-study.
